Chapter Recognition Awards
The Chapter Recognition Awards Program recognizes individual chapter performance and provides a standard by which each AGA chapter maintains a well-rounded operation for the professional growth of its members. Chapter Volunteer of the Year
The Volunteer of the Year Award is a national honor recognizing distinguished contributions to the development and enhancement of an AGA chapter. It is presented annually to one member from each chapter. The recipients of the award embody the spirit of volunteerism.
Chapter Service Award
The Chapter Service Award recognizes individuals who have made contributions to AGA chapters. AGA presents one award per chapter membership grouping. The award recognizes service to a chapter. National committee work and/or holding of a National office are not factors in consideration for this award. Eligible nominees will have made consistently important contributions to the development and enhancement of a chapter, and distinguished or spectacular contributions to a chapter during the year of the nomination. These would be individuals who, for example, played a key role in establishing new chapters, revitalizing old chapters, developing innovative programs, promoting significantly increased attendance and participation, bringing substantive recognition and credit to chapter activities, or substantially improving communications with chapter members.

Chapter Education Award
Each year, AGA presents crystal awards to recognize AGA chapters that have done an outstanding job in providing educational programs to its members and other accountability professionals. AGA presents one award per chapter membership grouping. The award recognizes chapters that have demonstrated an outstanding commitment providing one or more educational events, which requires significant commitment of time and/or resources.
Chapter Newsletter and Website Awards
The annual chapter newsletter editor and website contests are designed to recognize the outstanding efforts of AGA's chapter communicators. Entries for each contest are judged by a panel of former award recipients, who choose one first place and one honorable mention award recipient in each chapter group.

Citizen-Centric Reporting
AGA's Citizen-Centric Government Reporting (CCR) Initiative is intended to foster innovative means of communication between governments and their citizenry. AGA believes that government financial information should be provided to citizens in forms that are clear and understandable, updated regularly and often, delivered to all, easy to locate, honest in breadth and technically accurate in detail. In fact, as the owners of government, citizens have a right to this information.

Member of the Year in the Des Moines Chapter
Members earn chapter points by attending webinars, lunch and learns, bringing guests to the lunch and learns and participating in community service. Details can be found in the Procedures Manual. At the end of the chapter year, the member with the most points receives a recognition certificate and a $25 gift certificate or the choice to make a $25 donation to the charity of their choosing.
