Hosted by the Association of Government Accountants (AGA), the annual Government Finance Case Challenge invites graduate and undergraduate students nationwide to engage in a virtual competition. Over two and a half weeks, participating teams analyze data for a specified U.S. state, city, or county government, producing a Citizens-Centric Report (CCR) to highlight the importance of government accountability and transparency.
Entries are rigorously judged by a panel of government finance experts, and finalists have the unique opportunity to present their findings in a team-created video simulating a mock government meeting. The competition not only elevates student awareness of data utilization for public consumption but also fosters an understanding of exciting career prospects in government finance.
Missouri State University's victory reflects not only the team's dedication but also the high standards of academic and professional development at the university. The winning team and their advisor, Kyle Goodin, are recipients of a well-deserved $1,000 scholarship award each.
The AGA Ozarks Chapter applauds the Missouri State University Graduate Team for their exceptional performance, congratulating them on their well-earned success in the 2023 Government Finance Case Challenge. The winning CCR and Video Presentation can be viewed below.
