Presented annually at National Leadership Training, this prestigious award recognizes leaders who have shaped policies, practices, and systems that strengthen accountability and promote good governance.

About the Award

• Up to two awards are presented each year
• Recognizes exceptional leadership in government financial management policy or practice
• Honors contributions from both the legislative and executive branches
• Nominees must have been serving as an elected federal official (e.g., U.S. Senator or Representative) or a presidential appointee at the time of the contribution
• AGA membership is not required

Nominees should exemplify:

• Visionary leadership that strengthens federal financial management practices, legislation, or systems
• A demonstrated commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical governance
• Efforts to prevent or reduce fraud, waste, and abuse across government operations
• The ability to drive meaningful policy or operational improvements through collaboration and innovation
• Service as a role model for integrity, public trust, and excellence in federal leadership
