The Einhorn-Gary Award is presented annually at the Professional Development Training (PDT) to honor an AGA member or organization that has demonstrated a sustained and significant commitment to advancing government accountability. Named in memory of Raymond Einhorn and T. Jack Gary—two of AGA’s earliest champions—this award recognizes efforts that strengthen transparency, performance, and integrity across all levels of government.

- Open to AGA members and organizations.
- Nominees must demonstrate a record of active participation in AGA activities and/or programs at the chapter and national level.
About Raymond Einhorn and T. Jack Gary
Raymond Einhorn served as the State Comptroller of Virginia and was a founding member of AGA. He championed the importance of rigorous financial oversight and accountability in state government and played a vital role in elevating the standards of public financial management. A long-time supporter of professional education and ethical leadership, Einhorn’s legacy lives on in AGA’s commitment to excellence in government.
T. Jack Gary Jr., also a founding member of AGA, held numerous senior financial positions in the federal government, where he focused on improving federal accounting standards and practices. Gary was instrumental in shaping the early direction of the association, encouraging collaboration across sectors and fostering professional development for government financial managers.

- Demonstrated leadership and innovation in financial management practices across one or more levels of government.
- Active and impactful engagement in AGA activities at the chapter and national levels.
