Under his leadership, the committee has consistently upheld the highest standards of fairness, inclusivity, and transparency.

Through his collaborative and thoughtful leadership style, Thomas has fostered an environment where all voices are respected and valued. His ability to unite the committee around a shared mission has inspired members and elevated the overall impact of the awards program.

Because of his tireless efforts, countless professionals and students have been recognized, supported, and encouraged to strive for excellence. Thomas’s service has left a lasting and meaningful impact—not only on the Awards Committee, but on our entire community.

Presented to Michelle Yanok for her tireless service as AGA’s National Treasurer during the 2024–2025 program year. Her sharp oversight exemplified the sound financial management principles that AGA champions—ensuring accountability, transparency, and integrity.

Michelle’s excellence in financial reporting, budgeting, and stewardship has strengthened AGA’s financial position and set a standard of excellence that resonates throughout the organization. Her leadership extended to the National Governing Board (NGB), where she consistently led by example and upheld the highest standards of professionalism.

Shepherd’s leadership within NASA’s financial management exemplifies a deep commitment to accountability, integrity, and excellence in public service. His expertise in internal control, Enterprise Risk Management, and financial policy has not only advanced NASA’s mission but has also benefited the broader federal financial management community.

Through his willingness to share best practices and lessons learned, Shepherd has positively impacted many CFO Act agencies. His thought leadership has been a valuable asset to AGA, particularly in supporting the development of presentations and technical educational materials for national training events and Chapter engagements.

His efforts to promote AGA’s mission—encouraging participation in training events and fostering membership—have been clearly reflected in NASA’s strong presence at the 2024 Professional Development Training (PDT).

Rachelle serves in several leadership roles and embodies the AGA values of service, accountability, and integrity.

Rachelle’s involvement with AGA has been marked by active participation in the planning of our Professional Development Training, serving on the National Governing Board, and assisting with training events for our chapter leaders. She also serves on multiple committees, including the Higher Education Committee, where she champions students’ and young professionals’ career development. Rachelle approaches every challenge with a positive attitude and a willingness to support her colleagues and fellow AGA members.

 

Terrance’s leadership in NASA’s financial management demonstrates his commitment to accountability and integrity. He has demonstrated excellence in service to the federal government in financial reporting, data analysis, property accounting, and funds control. He has also helped many CFO Act agencies as an early adopter of governmentwide requirements. Demonstrating exceptional leadership, Terrance has consistently supported AGA, encouraging his staff to become AGA members and attendees at AGA training events.

His leadership was also instrumental in NASA receiving 14 consecutive unmodified audit opinions and being recognized with 11 AGA CEAR awards.
