About Relmond P. Van Daniker
Relmond P. Van Daniker (1942–2016) was a national leader in government financial management and a lifelong advocate for accountability and transparency. With a career that spanned academia, state government, and association leadership, he was a pioneer in shaping governmental accounting standards and improving public access to financial information.
Van Daniker served as CEO of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) from 2003 to 2014, where he championed Citizen-Centric Reporting and modernized AGA’s role in promoting government transparency. He was also the founding executive director of NASACT and a professor of accounting at the University of Kentucky for over three decades. His legacy lives on in the professionals he mentored, the standards he shaped, and the transparency he tirelessly promoted.
