About William R. Snodgrass

William R. Snodgrass (1922–2008) served as the Comptroller of the Treasury for the State of Tennessee for 44 years and was widely respected for his commitment to government transparency and accountability. His forward-thinking approach to auditing and financial oversight made him a national leader in the development of improved practices for public sector financial management. This award honors individuals who carry on his legacy of ethical, visionary leadership in state government.
