About CGFM Training Program

AGA’s unique CGFM training program provides a foundation in all areas of government financial management, at all levels—federal, state and local. It’s greatly beneficial for individuals new to government financial management or those looking to expand their knowledge of this field. It also helps candidates prepare for the three Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) examinations.

• Provide your staff with a comprehensive grasp of government financial management.
• Help them maintain their continuing professional education (CPE). 
• Give your staff the tools they need to succeed in the field of government financial management.

The CGFM training program consists of the following three courses:

• Course 1: Governmental Environment
• Course 2: Governmental Accounting, Financial Reporting and Budgeting
• Course 3: Governmental Financial Management and Control

Training Arrangements and Options:

AGA offers two convenient group training arrangements:

Standard group training (up to 30 participants):

Organizations choosing this arrangement have two options:

• Hold the training virtually or on-site (at your location)
• Schedule individual courses or the entire program

Pricing for virtual delivery (for up to 30 people):

• Course 1 (8 CPEs): $5,500
• Course 2 (21 CPEs): $10,000
• Course 3 (16 CPEs): $8,500

All three courses (45 CPEs): $24,000

Pricing for On-site (your location) Delivery (for up to 30 people):

• Course 1 (8 CPEs): $6,000
• Course 2 (24 CPEs): $12,000
• Course 3 (16 CPEs): $9,000

All three courses (48 CPEs): $27,000

NOTE: The price for each course includes instructor fees and expenses, as well as a corresponding online and hard-copy CGFM study guide for up to 30 attendees. There is an additional fee of $100 per course, per participant over 30; the maximum number of participants for each course is 35.

Small-group training (up to 20 participants):

If you have 20 or fewer people, this is your arrangement! All three courses are condensed and cover the material more quickly. 

Pricing for virtual delivery (for up to 10 people): $15,000

NOTE: The price for this arrangement includes instructor fees and expenses, as well as a corresponding online or hard-copy CGFM study guide for up to 10 attendees. There is an additional fee of $900 per participant over 10; the maximum number of participants is 20. This training cannot be held on-site.
