Nomination Questions
  • Please review the description for the position you are applying for. What is your ability to serve? Will you have any time constraints? Will you be able to travel for NGB in-person meetings (in concert with National Events), two-day LEAD (Leadership Training), potential in-person or virtual speaking engagements with chapters, colleges, etc)?
  • Please list AGA Chapter-Level or National-Level positions you have held, AND whether you have served on a Board outside of the Chapter Executive Committee, and if yes, what position(s) did you serve?
  • How do you envision fulfilling the role of active and vocal advocate for our chapters and AGA members? Specifically, how will you approach this responsibility to effectively represent the chapter’s ideas/concerns to the NGB?
  • We are encouraging our leaders at the Chapters and National levels to actively reach out to colleges/universities to promote membership, CGFM and careers in public service. What will you say to encourage/recruit students to join AGA and possibly consider a career in public service?
  • The NGB is an oversight body and does not direct the actions of Chapters. If you become aware of a chapter or membership issue that needs the attention of the National office, how will you address it? For example, “Chapter A” has CEC members that are not willing to relinquish their role(s), and this is impacting the morale and participation in the chapter. What would you do in response?
  • How do you envision balancing your role as a representative of multiple chapters in your area while also being responsive to individual chapter needs or concerns?

The NGB is the organization’s decision-making authority, and per AGA bylaws, sets strategic direction, determines policies and procedures, and approves the annual budget for AGA. The NGB has seventeen members, consisting of:

  • National President
  • National President-Elect
  • National Treasurer
  • National Treasurer-Elect
  • Eight Directors for Chapters
  • Two Directors at Large
  • Chair of the Corporate Partner Advisory Group
  • Chair of the Professional Certification Board
  • CEO (without vote)
