Alexandria, Va. — The U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) took top honors in AGA’s 2024 Innovation Challenge on November 6 in Washington, D.C., for its Single Audit Analytic Tool. Presented at AGA’s annual Technology & Transformation Summit (TTS), this award celebrates HUD’s innovative solution for advancing transparency, compliance and risk management across federal grant programs.
HUD’s Single Audit Analytic Tool, a first-of-its-kind Power BI dashboard, ingests and consolidates data on grantees’ current and historical audit performance, offering a clear and actionable snapshot of single audit activity. This user-friendly tool significantly enhances HUD’s ability to track grantee compliance, prioritize high-need monitoring areas and quickly identify high-risk auditees. By addressing data quality control at the point of intake, the tool further strengthens HUD’s fiscal management and oversight capabilities.
Three finalists, including HUD, showcased their innovations to TTS attendees, who voted to select the 2024 Innovation Challenge winner:
• HUD’s Single Audit Analytic Tool – HUD’s comprehensive dashboard for managing grant compliance and monitoring.
• U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service’s Imputation, Deterministic Edits and Logic (IDEAL) – A USDA application that automates the editing and imputation of survey responses.
• Equinoxys Inc.’s Automated UDO Management Application – A software tool for efficient management of Undelivered Obligations (UDOs), reducing labor hours and improving fiscal responsibility.
