The Early Career Training Scholarship gives rising professionals the opportunity to grow their careers, expand their networks, and gain valuable training alongside 2,000+ government financial management experts at AGA’s Professional Development Training (PDT)—our flagship annual event.

What the Scholarship Provides
Professional Training & CPEs
- Attend PDT sessions led by experts from federal, state, and local government, academia, and the private sector
- Learn from seasoned professionals and expand your career connections
- Earn up to 14 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits
Scholarship Benefits
- Complimentary full registration to PDT
- Hotel accommodations covered (incidentals not included)
- Optional one-on-one mentor to help guide your PDT experience
- Recognition during the PDT awards ceremony and a certificate of participation
- Invitation to the Young Professionals Session at PDT
- Headshot and AGA chapter affiliation featured on AGA’s website for one year
- Spotlighted in future AGA publications and social media
Eligibility Requirements
To apply, you must:
- Be a first-time PDT attendee
- Be an AGA member in good standing
- Be under age 35 as of July 26, 2026, or have three years or less of full-time work experience
- Be available to attend all days of PDT and assist with AGA activities (including time at the registration booth)
