Melinda DeCorte has more than 25 years of auditing, accounting, and government financial management experience. She directs, manages, and serves in a quality assurance capacity for financial statement audit engagements conducted in accordance with Government Auditing Standards and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) auditing standards, including holding key leadership positions on the first-ever Department of Defense financial statement audits of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency Security Assistance Accounts, U.S. Transportation Command Transportation Working Capital Fund, and U.S. Navy Schedule of Budgetary Activity. She also has extensive advisory experience for multiple governmental agencies, focusing on risk and internal control assessments, financial statement preparation, financial system implementation, and evaluating agencies for audit readiness and compliance with internal control standards and generally accepted accounting principles. Melinda’s firm leadership roles include serving on the Sikich Board of Managers and as the federal government industry vertical leader. She also leads the Sikich federal audit practice.
Prior to her career in public accounting, Melinda served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, Finance Corps.
