Mr. Simms retired after a 35-year career in federal financial management and auditing. He served as the assistant director of the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board during the final 15 years of his diverse career. His earlier career included service as the Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Financial Audits, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, as well as various auditing roles for federal agencies. Mr. Simms received his Master’s in Business Administration from Mississippi State University and his Bachelor’s in Science in Accounting from Jackson State University. He also obtained a Certificate in Information Technology from the University of Virginia. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
