Course Description:

This course describes the unique aspects of government and how those aspects differ from the private sector and nonprofit organizations. It is designed for accountants, auditors, budget professionals and controllers in government, as well as academics and other professionals who have an interest in government. It is particularly appropriate for newly hired professionals and those studying for their CGFM exams.

Registration Details:

  • Registration and payment: Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, until 7 days before the class start date. Space is limited. Payment is required by credit card only at the time of registration. POs are not accepted.
  • “Class is a go/no-go” notification: Since a minimum class-size must be met, AGA will send an email to registered participants confirming whether the class will be held about two weeks prior to the start of training. If the minimum number of participants is not met, the class will be cancelled. 
  • Cancellation deadline: The cancellation deadline is 7 days before the course date. Refunds, less a $25 processing fee per registrant, will be granted for cancellation requests received in writing by this date. Refunds will not be granted after this date. If the registrant does not attend all or part of the course, AGA will not issue credit toward any future training. If the class is cancelled by AGA due to low enrollment, a full refund of the course fee will be issued. AGA is not responsible for any costs incurred by registrants due to course cancellation.
  • Class format and location: course will be taught via Zoom. About 5 days before the class start date, AGA will send an email with instructions on how to log into the course using AGA’s Online Training Portal and Zoom software. Registrants are responsible for ensuring they can connect to these platforms ahead of training and have an adequate internet connection to participate. Recording the course presentation (audio or video) is strictly prohibited.
  • Course materials: 6-months of access to the corresponding online AGA CGFM study guide is included in the course registration. Within 5 days before the class start date, AGA will send an email with instructions on how to access the study guide. 
  • CPE credit: During the opening remarks of each course, AGA will explain how to receive your continuing professional education (CPE) certificate. In compliance with NASBA, AGA employs an attendance monitoring system. You MUST be able to view the PowerPoint slides on your device to verify your attendance.
