Course Description:

This course covers the general principles of governmental accounting, financial reporting and budgeting. It also covers the unique aspects of accounting and reporting for the federal government as well as state and local governments. It is designed for accountants, auditors, budget professionals and controllers in government as well as academics and other professionals who have an interest in government. It is particularly appropriate for newly hired professionals and those studying for their CGFM exams.

Registration Details:

Registration and payment: Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, until 7 days before the class start date. Space is limited. Payment is required by credit card only at the time of registration. POs are not accepted.

Cancellation by a participant: A written cancellation request submitted by the deadline listed above qualifies for a refund, less a $25 processing fee. No refund or future training credit will be issued for requests received after the deadline or for failure to attend all or part of the course.

Course cancellation by AGA: If AGA cancels the course because of low enrollment, participants will be notified by the deadline listed above and will receive a full refund of the course fee. AGA is not responsible for costs incurred by registrants.

Class format and location: course will be taught via Zoom. About 5 days before the class start date, AGA will send an email with instructions on how to log into the course using AGA’s Online Training Portal and Zoom software. Registrants are responsible for ensuring they can connect to these platforms ahead of training and have an adequate internet connection to participate. Recording the course presentation (audio or video) is strictly prohibited.

Course materials: 6-months of access to the corresponding online AGA CGFM study guide is included in the course registration. Within 5 days before the class start date, AGA will send an email with instructions on how to access the study guide. 

CPE credit: During the opening remarks of each course, AGA will explain how to receive your continuing professional education (CPE) certificate. In compliance with NASBA, AGA employs an attendance monitoring system. You MUST be able to view the PowerPoint slides on your device to verify your attendance.
