Central South Dakota Chapter Executive Committee Minutes November 8, 2016 12:00 PM
President Mary Ellen Garrett called the meeting to order. Members present: Sarah Burtt, Matthew Fickbohm, Seth Hipple, Jessica Huber (via phone), Tonya Johnson, Heather Nachtigal, and Amanda Werre. Members absent: Jane Beer, Teresa Evans, Beth Leidholt, Keith Senger, and Jennifer Schrempp.
Review of Agenda and Additional Items – The agenda was adopted by common consent.
Approve Minutes - Seth Hipple motioned to approve, Tonya Johnson seconded that the minutes of the October 11, 2016 meeting be approved as presented. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report – The Chapter received $5 in membership dues and spent $21.64 during October, leaving an account balance of $21,951.47. The President declared the Treasurer’s Report to be in order.
Old Business - None.
Accountability – Nothing to report.
Bylaws and Procedures Update – No report received.
Certification – Heather reported that the chapter has a new CGFM: Michelle DeNeui of Spearfish, SD. The successful candidate received a scholarship from the Chapter after reading about it in the chapter newsletter.
Communications – No report received.
Community Service – Seth presented on the holiday meal sponsorship program. The cost is $40 per meal. The chapter will be matching member donations again this year (approved by the CEC at the prior meeting). Seth reported that 7 participants successfully graduated from the Budget Class.
Education – Jessica reported that School and Public Lands will be presenting at a member luncheon on December 7th. A Tax Update with Ron Wire is scheduled for February 8th, 2017 and Unclaimed Property will be presenting on March 8th.
Membership – No new members for October 2016. A brief discussion on the planned scholarship program was held. Matthew and Tonya will be drafting program guidelines for review and approval at a future meeting.
Programs and Technical – The website is nearly ready to go live.
Chapter Calendar - The President reviewed the calendar. The CEC discussed the Regional Leadership Meeting (SLMR) being held January 28th, 2017 in Kansas City, MO.
PDT Planning – Jessica reported that she is in conversation with Mr. David Hancox and K2E enterprises as presenters for PDC 2017. Mr. Hancox presents on fraud and internal control and K2E would return to present on Excel topics. Other Business: None.
