Recently our own AGA St Louis Chapter member Brian Hauser the Branch Chief of Rural Development Business Center , National Financial and Accounting Operations Center, Financial and Reporting Division, Program Funds Control Branch, United States Department of Agriculture showed his support of Team AGA participation in the Annual Sista Strut. When Brian heard AGA was forming a team to participate in the 3K walk with a plan to wear pink tutus to support Breast Cancer he wanted to show support. However he had conflicting schedules with a prior commitment to run with his sister in support of the “Freedom Run” in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. The course runs along the Potomac River into Maryland and through the Antietam Nation Battlefield. http://www.freedomsrun.org/Default.aspx. The Freedom Run is West Virginia’s largest marathon of which aims to promote a healthy lifestyles, walking and biking paths, and more involvement in the nearby national parks.
When asked why are you willing to wear the pink tutu, with humble heart Brian said, “I lost my mother to breast cancer a year ago June, a nice jog on a beautiful fall morning cannot compare to the feats of endurance cancer warriors go through every day, but it is a wonderful way to raise awareness and remember those who can no longer run with us.”.
By donning the pink tutu Brian along with other Sista Strut AGA Team members in October we were able to bring awareness to Breast Cancer while remembering those who are no longer with us. Wearing of pink helps to promote Breast Cancer awareness, recognizes the strength of survivors, their family and friends and promotes early detection and search for a cure. Wearing a pink tutu…. Is the stuff made of proud supporters!
