Speaker & Panel Guidelines

Educational Value & Program Diversity

Session coordinators are encouraged to assemble panels that reflect diverse perspectives, including:

  • Federal, state, and local government representation
  • A mix of organizations and career specialties
  • Gender, racial, and ethnic diversity

Speaker Eligibility

  • Panels must consist of government-sector speakers only
  • Private-sector participants may serve as moderators or facilitators only, except as noted below

Private-Sector Speaker Exception

Very recent former federal Senior Executive Service (SES) members—or equivalent senior state or local executives—now in private or commercial practice may participate as panel speakers with prior AGA approval.

Please send speaker approval requests or questions to Susan Fritzlen before extending invitations to private sector speakers. AGA may to provide guidance or suggest potential speakers.

Speaker & Moderator Registration

Registration (Due March 1)

  • All speakers & moderators must submit the registration form below no later than Friday, March 1
  • Complimentary in-person registration is automatically provided to confirmed speakers
  • The entire training includes all education sessions, Solutions Hall, lunch, and the ability to earn up to 6 CPEs.

Speaker & Moderator Bios (Due March 1)

  • Format: Short professional bio (word document)
  • Length: 75–100 words
  • Content: Current role, organization, and brief professional background

Headshot (Due March 1)

  • Format & Size: Under 1 MB in JPG or PNG.
  • Resolution: High-resolution (300 dpi preferred)
  • Style: Professional head-and-shoulders photo
  • File name: FirstName_LastName_Headshot

Presentation Materials & Engagement Tools

PowerPoint Slides (Due March 6)

  • Use the official TTS 2026 PowerPoint template only and follow slide design guidelines
  • Combine all speakers’ slides into one PowerPoint deck, in presentation order
  • Presentation slides will be published for attendee viewing and printing unless otherwise specified

Polling Questions (Due March 6)

  • AGA will build and administer all polling questions
  • Complete the Polling Spreadsheet with your questions and submit by March 6
  • Insert a blank PowerPoint slide into your final slide deck for each polling question so it can be embedded in the correct location

Submit the final slide deck and polling spreadsheet (if applicable) to Monica Cordova  

Social Q&A (Used in All Sessions)

Social Q&A allows attendees to anonymously submit and upvote questions in real time during your session. Please review the Social Q&A tutorial video:

Moderator Responsibilities & Best Practices:

As the moderator, you will serve as the discussion facilitator. Your role includes introducing speakers, keeping time, and guiding the audience Q&A. Please be sure to review the Moderator Best Practices in advance.

  • Arrive 10–15 minutes before your session begins to greet speakers and coordinate with audiovisual staff
  • PowerPoint presentations will be pre-loaded on the session room laptop and saved as SessionID_All Speakers/Speaker Last Name. Upon arrival, review your slides and confirm your content is ready. AV technicians will be available for support
  • Audience Q&A: Moderators must use their own device (cell phone or tablet) to view attendee questions. Visit TTS.cnf.io, select your session number, and monitor questions submitted and ranked by popularity

Room Set-up & Audiovisual

Each room is equipped with basic A/V such as a projector/screen, microphones, and a laptop loaded with presentation slides. There will be A/V staff available at the back for any troubleshooting.

Non-Commercial Content Policy/Code of Conduct

Training sessions may not be used as a platform for commercial sales, self-promotion, or as a forum to criticize competitors. Presenters must share information in an educational, non-commercial manner and avoid content that is specific to a product or service.

Presenters must also refrain from overt statements, harsh or inflammatory language, partisan political views, and/or pointed humor that undermines the dignity, inclusion, or social equity of any individual or group.

No-Recording Policy

AGA prohibits unauthorized recording or broadcasting (video or audio) of any AGA event. This policy includes both in-person and virtual events
