Winter 2023 & Summer 2024 Community Service Event: Atlanta Community Food Bank

AGA Atlanta volunteered at the Atlanta Community Food Bank twice during our 2023 - 2024 program year. We were able to raise $150.00 this year for ACFB. In addition to our monetary donation, AGA Atlanta volunteered in person in December 2023 and June 2024 where we helped package food that was distributed across the Atlanta Community to support local food banks in providing meals to those in need.

Fall 2023 Community Service Event: Meals on Wheels Atlanta

AGA Atlanta helped share hope and celebrate Thanksgiving with Meals on Wheels Atlanta’s homebound clients by sending a card or note of encouragement that will be added to their meal delivery. To find out more about MOWA and how they serve the Atlanta Community, please visit their website.

hanks to your collective efforts, AGA Atlanta successfully delivered 25 touching letters to Meals on Wheels Atlanta, enriching the meal deliveries received by seniors across Atlanta. Your support also allowed AGA Atlanta to contribute $150 from our webinar proceeds. A match was received by AGA Nationals, resulting in a total donation of $300. This contribution will play a vital role in providing nourishing meals to seniors during this holiday season. Your generosity is truly making a meaningful impact, and we extend our appreciation to each and every one of you!

Angel Tree Gifts before Being Bagged for Delivery

Every child deserves to experience the joy of Christmas morning. The Salvation Army Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts for hundreds of thousands of children around the country each year. Once a child or senior adult has been registered and accepted as an Angel their Christmas wish list is shared with donors in your community who purchase gifts of new clothing and toys. The gifts are distributed to the family to place under their family Christmas tree.

From our Chapter Community Service representative, Harry Gatanis:

I think our Chapter had a fantastic Angel Tree showing this year.  Yesterday, I dropped off donations for four angels sponsored by the Chapter and various other leadership-team members, and was profusely thanked on the AGA’s behalf by the friendly Salvation Army staff at the drop-off center in Tucker, GA.  For these four angels, we were able to raise over $1,200 in toys and clothing—the volume of which can be seen in the photos above.
