AGA BATON ROUGE CHAPTER STRATEGIC PLAN SUMMARY

Mission Statement: AGA Baton Rouge Chapter is committed to serving the educational needs of professionals in the government financial management community by providing relevant education, fostering professional development, and supporting emerging standards to advance government accountability.

Core Values: We uphold professional integrity, networking, mentorship, and fiscal sustainability.

Key Objectives:

  1. Education and Research: Provide comprehensive education and research, initiate training, and promote technical proficiency and financial competency.
  2. Planning and Leadership: Articulate an organized plan for proactive leadership, fostering learning, networking, ethical integrity, and collaboration.
  3. Communication: Ensure timely exchange of critical information between members and national governance.
  4. Membership: Expand membership to diverse professional groups, retaining and attracting early career, student, and other government finance professionals.
  5. Meetings: Organize educational events, secure venues, and promote meetings effectively.
  6. Programs: Collaborate on engaging topics and secure dynamic speakers for monthly meetings.
  7. Community Service: Lead in community service efforts and participate in initiatives.
  8. Certification: Promote the CGFM designation, encourage professionals to sit for the exam, and provide support for certification maintenance.
  9. Scholarship: Support college students through scholarships and endowments.
  10. Technology: Provide state-of-the-art training to stay abreast of emerging technologies.
  11. Internal Structure and Services: Improve infrastructure, governance, and board member training.
