Holiday Donations for Local Children
Date: 12/11/2024
AGA Charleston is all about spreading holiday cheer. We recently donated gifts to local children
ages 4-16, ensuring that every child in our community can experience the joy of the season. The gifts will be distributed by local Angel Tree groups to children in need, providing them with a memorable holiday experience.
In the spirit of giving, AGA Charleston strongly encourages their members to find ways to give back to the community this holiday season. One of the core missions of AGA is to stay deeply integrated with our local community as we believe it’s important to foster connections that make a meaningful difference.
This year, we’ve partnered with several local organizations and charities that support families in need. From toy drives to food assistance programs, there are numerous ways for our members and the public to get involved and help make the holidays a bit brighter for those in need.

AGA Charleston has provided a link further below which lists local charities and organizations that are seeking support this season. We highly recommend that we all find some time to give back and contribute to these worthy causes.
As we celebrate the holidays, we are reminded of the importance of giving and helping those around us. Together, we can create lasting change and ensure that every child in Charleston feels the warmth and joy of the season!

Reading Buddy Volunteer Program
Date: 11/21/2024
Riding on the success from the previous school year, our Chapter kicked off the Reading Buddy volunteer program again to coincide with the current 2024-2025 school year at the Charleston County School District's Mary Ford Early Learning and Family Center. Each week, our volunteers visit the school to help students improve their reading skills and enhance their love for learning. It's been amazing to see the growth of these young readers, and we’re excited to continue supporting them throughout the year.
In October, our very own Cowboy Shea (Hester) saddled up on his horse and paid a special visit to the school. Shea even let his reading buddy, Carter, wear his cowboy hat throughout their reading session. The kids were absolutely thrilled to see a “real” cowboy at their school that day as evidenced in the picture below.

Sharing the Love with Some Furry Friends

Members and leaders of our Chapter recently volunteered and prepared treats at the Charleston Animal Society to aid the amazing staff, who work tirelessly to ensure every animal is cared for and loved.
A huge thank you to the society for all the important work they do, and to our volunteers, who made the day such a success! 🐶🐱
Also thank you to our AGA photographer Michael Lockey for helping us continue to tell our story through amazing videos and pictures. You can follow him on Instagram at The Lowcountry Drone.

Cleaning Up Our Local Beaches
Date: 9/21/2024
Our Chapter teamed up for a beach sweep at the Fort Moultrie Visitor Center on Sullivans Island to help do our part in keeping our local beaches and waterways clean. We applaud the fantastic effort from our members who made it out and contributed to making a healthier environment while spending quality time together.
