Happy New Year, AGA Cleveland Chapters Members!
I can’t believe it is already February. I hope the New Year has brought great things and you were able to spend time with those you love!
We have some great things planned for the second half of the program year….
We’ve rescheduled our Ronald McDonald House February visit, tentatively, to Thursday, March 21st. For now, the best time for RMH is from 1-3 pm. I know it’s during normal work hours, but I hope we have a few members who can volunteer. It is a wonderful cause and I’m sure we have several in our midst who have benefitted from their services.
The annual April PDT has been confirmed for Thursday, April 18th, at the City Club of Cleveland. We’re furiously working to bring in some exciting speakers and finalize the agenda details. We’re also working a little more time during the lunch period to allow attendees to network and socialize. The website for registration should be up in the next week or so. For DFAS and NASA GRC employees, please be sure to request the training through your approved training process. For those registering and paying on their own, we’re adding a payment option through Eventbrite. Due date for registration/payment is April 5th.
You should have received an email from AGA for membership renewal. When you renew, please remember to renew for the Chapter. Unless you’re a Chapter member, you won’t readily receive the various outreach and event information.
The Chapter Board has developed a new survey for our members. We really want to engage our members and are looking to hold a few more socials, community outreach, and training events, but we need your input. The survey will touch on types/topics for training, outreach and event ideas, and the places to be held. We’re also seeking members who are interested in becoming more involved, whether it be as a Board member, a committee member, or simply as a participant. The survey is through Survey Monkey; you may need to forward to a personal email if you have issues using a work email.
I haven’t signed up for any new walk/runs. I did have a couple of AGA members join me in the St Jude Children’s walk/run and several who donated. Along with the AGA donation of $100, we donated an additional $145 from members. Unfortunately, I didn’t have anyone join for the Arthritis Foundation Jingle Bell run/walk, but it’s not going to stop me from trying. I will be checking sites to see what is out there. If you have ideas or a charity run of significance to you, let me know.
Please check out the Events page to stay abreast of events and opportunities. And don’t forget the button competition for our events.
If you have questions, concerns, or ideas, please reach out to any of the Chapter Board members listed on the website, https://www.agacgfm.org/Chapters/Cleveland/Our-Chapter/Chapter-Leadership.aspx, or send me an email, president@agacleveland.org.
We’d love to hear from you!
Thank you,
Jana Sjoquist
