The El Paso Association of Government Accountants (AGA) Chapter serves financial managers responsible for monetary resources at the federal, state and local levels. Through education and professional development programs, the El Paso AGA Chapter supports those professionals responsible for the fiscal business of government.


Education and Training
Throughout the year, the El Paso AGA Chapter sponsors comprehensive programs which allow participants to earn Continuing Professional Education (CPE) for maintaining their licenses and certificates as well as meeting criteria for advancement and other employment opportunities. In addition to the annual Professional Development Conference, the national AGA sponsors separate Leadership Conferences for federal financial managers and for state, county and municipal financial managers. AGA’s continuing series of workshops on timely issues such as new legislation affecting the responsibilities of fiscal managers, the impact and implementation of advanced information and fiscal management technology, and updates and refresher sessions on accounting and auditing practices are geared to providing professional with convenient accessibility to a wide range of education opportunities.


Members can actively participate in association activities through membership in the EL Paso AGA Chapter. Membership offers you an opportunity to exchange ideas, network with peers and gain first hand exposure to governmental financial management issues. AGA Members are represented at the national level by a Regional Vice President and by the President of their Chapter, both of whom serve on AGA's National Board of Directors.
