The Phoenix Chapter Association of Government Accountants (AGA) is pleased to offer two annual scholarship opportunities for eligible undergraduate/graduate students to apply for a college scholarship. There is one scholarship awarded for $1,000, which can be used for student educational expenses and a possible second place award for $500.00. The Scholarship recipient is also awarded a one year Special Student Membership in the Phoenix Chapter AGA which will entitle him or her to attend chapter meetings and educational events, receive chapter and national publications, access job opportunities through AGA’s online Job Bank, enhance professional development, network with other professionals, and the many other benefits of becoming an AGA member.

We are pleased to announce that we awarded two scholarships for the 2018-2019 program year.  Aleesa Sells was awarded $1,000 and Kylan Musgrave was awarded $500.

Aleesa Sells is currently a junior at ASU majoring in Accounting. She is very involved with clubs; organizations such as SPARKS and BP @ West; participating in Changemaker Days of Service; and has also held several campus positions. Aleesa values the small actions one can do in life, every day, to make a difference. With noble character and strong ethics within, she believes anyone can contribute to the big picture as a government financial worker. Her interest is in auditing and she believes she can make a significant difference in this world by exhibiting those core values in her everyday work.

Kylan Musgrave is a sophomore at ASU majoring in Accounting. She is in Beta Alpha Psi, part of the Honorary Accounting Program, and member of the WBLA (Women’s Business Leadership Association). Kylan has a strong emphasis on promoting ethical accounting practices and believes being honest and transparent is key to success. We are honored to have her as one of our scholarship winners, and a part of our organization.

Our scholarship recipients for the 2017-2018 program year were Getzamany Aragon ($1,000) and Elliana Grow ($500).

The next available scholarship opportunity will be for the 2019-2020 program year and is due December 31, 2019.  The application is available, here. We look forward to, and appreciate your participation in our scholarship program.
