A Message from the President:
Dear Members & Friends,
It is my honor and privilege to serve as the Trenton Chapter Board President for the 2023/2024 Program Year. I have served on the Board since becoming a member of the chapter in 2017 when I was awarded the Membership Scholarship Award. The hard work and dedication of the entire Board is amazing. I want to congratulate Robert Rizzo on a very successful year as President last year. Our Past Presidents have shaped our Chapter into what it is today. It is a wonderful benefit to this chapter to have so many former chapter presidents still active on the Board. I look to continue that path and pass on my experience to future Trenton Chapter Presidents. I hope to make everyone proud!
I think we have a tremendous year planned. As always, we have our Fall Professional Development Training (PDT) in October and Spring PDT in April. However, we are starting our program year with a Happy Hour as a thank you to all our members. We are also looking at increasing our volunteering this year to help give back to the community.
As a Chapter we believe that education is pivotal to career advancement. We will have eight webinars this year to provide our members with additional CPE opportunities. In addition to the eight webinars, we will also be offering an ethics training in conjunction with the New Jersey Office of the State Auditor that will satisfy CPA ethics requirements. This training will be offered on two separate dates, one in October and one in November. Also, please take advantage of our Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) Achievement Scholarship. The scholarship reimburses up to $250 for the cost of study materials and exam fees. You must be an AGA Trenton Chapter member in good standing, a government employee, must have passed two of the three parts before applying and must fill out the scholarship application before taking the final CGFM exam.
