President’s Message

September 2022

Well, we are coming out of the Pandemic and have weathered our Monsoon Season! We are now early into our 2022-2023 Program Year. Amber Loyce Hill was selected to be our Chapter President for the year but had to step down for personal reasons and I for one will miss her. Amber has agreed to stay with the Chapter as our Vice President, and I have agreed to take on the challenges as President!

First, I would like to thank Jordan Dale our Chapter President for 2021-2022 Program Year for the great job he has done and his commitment to the Chapter. Jordan has agreed to continue participating in the Chapter as our Webmaster. I would also like to thank the rest of the Chapter Board and Committee Chairs for their support. I know that I will need it. Many of them have also agreed to continue participating and I also value their contribution and dedication to the Chapter. However, we could still use more help. The Chapter will need to select a Chair for the Membership Committee and the Accountability Committee. All the Committees are also looking for other Members to actively participate so that we can get back to being the great Chapter we have always been! If you are interested, you can contact me at or the Chapter Committees and their Chair are listed on our website at

Our first Board Meeting is scheduled for September 28th at which we hope to finalize our Education and Meeting Plan Agenda for the rest of the Program Year. We anticipate that the Chapter will provide Chapter Members with at least forty (40) hours of current and technically informative continuing professional education (CPE) at an affordable cost throughout the Chapter’s year. We will also be finalizing our Chapter Budget for the Program year. In addition, we will be updating our Chapter’s Bylaws to make them compatible with AGA Nations Bylaws. Just another opportunity for you to help us grow and thrive.

Lastly, I wanted to give a shoutout and “THANK YOU” to Emily Harmon who has just past the CGFM exams and has offered some Mometrix Flashcards for the exam. She tells us that they helped her to achieve this milestone in her professional career. The Flashcards will be available to any of our Member through our CGFM/Professional Certification Committee.

Well, that’s about all I have for now, but know that I and the Board are here to support YOU, AGA, and Government Accountability!

Sincerely, Charles Hester President of the AGA Phoenix Chapter
