LEAD!2026
LEAD! is AGA’s chapter leadership training event. It will be held July in Arlington, VA. LEAD! connects volunteers with AGA national office staff to support leadership development. We plan to cover:
- AGA’s national direction and initiatives
- Expectations of our national and chapter leaders
- Strategies to enhance services, retain members and attract new leaders
- Ways to access key information for more effective leadership
LEAD! Logistics
Date: Sunday, July 19 – Monday, July 20, 2026
Times: 8:30 AM Sunday – 12:00 PM Monday
Location: Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel
- Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) – 0.9 miles from the hotel
- Complimentary airport shuttle
Travel Booking Information: We recommend using Avenue Travel for plane or train bookings via the provided travel request form. Travel by car is an approved reimbursable expense.
- If you extend your stay, you must book your travel arrangements independently and request reimbursement after the event
- AGA will reimburse your return flight in full if it is equal to or less than the cost of returning on the designated departure date. If your alternate return flight costs more, you are responsible for the difference.

Hotel Accommodation Information: AGA will book your room based on the information you provide in the attendee travel and hotel accommodation form.

AGA Travel Expense Policies
AGA will not provide stipends to LEAD attendees for incidentals this year. Covered expenses include hotel accommodation, airfare, train or mileage, and select meals.
For expenses not covered (e.g., parking, rideshare, incidental travel costs), please consult your chapter leadership regarding possible reimbursement.
Health & Safety Guidelines
Liability Waiver
- I understand that travel and gathering involves risk of sickness, including sickness from COVID-19.1 (and on behalf of my guest(s)) fully assume that risk and, further, to the fullest extent of the law waive and release AGA and its employees, directors, officers, and agents from and against claims, liabilities and expenses arising from injury, sickness or death from contraction or spread of COVID-19 or other communicable disease due to travel to or attendance at an event hosted by AGA.
- I will take the necessary precautions while at the event, including, but not limited to, engaging in appropriate social distancing, wearing a mask as needed in public areas when not consuming food or beverages, minimizing face touching, frequently washing my hands, and avoiding risky environments such as overcrowded bars or restaurants. I agree not to attend any AGA event (or not to remain at an AGA event) if I feel ill when I arrive or at any time during the event; test positive for COVID-19, or am exposed to COVID-19.
- This waiver and release is binding on me, my family, and my heirs and successors.
