The CGFM certification is obtained through the steps below:

Step 1—Read AGA's Code of Ethics

Step 2—Apply for the CGFM program

Step 3—Submit required degree documentation* (bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university)

Step 7—Schedule the CGFM examinations

Step 8—Take and pass the CGFM examinations

Step 9—Receive CGFM award letter

Step 10—Receive and display your CGFM certificate
* Students currently pursuing their bachelor's degree can enroll as a CGFM candidate if they are within one year of graduation. Eligible students have five years from the date they apply to meet the experience requirement and three years to pass the exams.
