🎉 Warm Welcome to Our 2024-2025 Chapter Executive Committee! 🎉

We are pleased to announce the newly appointed AGA VA Peninsula Chapter Executive Committee for the 2024-2025 term. This distinguished group of professionals is committed to upholding the standards and forward momentum of our chapter. 

Save the date and plan to attend the 29th Annual Commonwealth PDT at the Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, VA on December 12th & 13, 2024. This is always a great professional development opportunity, so do not miss it! More details to come.

Thank you to everyone who joined the Year-End Social on 21 July, 2024 at the Smithfield, VA rolling skating rink. We successfully celebrated our Chapter's accomplishments for 2023-2024 and welcomed our new CGFMs. A special thanks to Evelyn for managing the food and logistics, and to Teela for her two-year tenure as Chapter President, and for securing a Platinum Award for the chapter at the PDT last week. We look forward to another outstanding year ahead!

A special thanks to our Chapter Executive Committee (CEC) for 2023-2024. We had a Platinum level year and could not have done it without all of you, our members, so thank you for your support and membership! We are always looking for volunteers who want to be a part of our CEC and help plan our chapter activities - we meet remotely so do not let geographic distance scare you. Many thanks to you all - hope to see you at our end of year party or at the AGA PDT in Denver! Enjoy the summer!

On Saturday, June 1, 2024, more than a dozen people of all ages joined us for our annual AGA VA Peninsula Chapter and Hampton Roads GAO Office joint clean up effort for Clean the Bay Day! We picked up all kinds of trash from the community beach in Ocean View, making it a cleaner and more beautiful place for everyone to enjoy.  

The CGFM study group has begun! Our next chapter study group for CGFM Exam 2 Governmental Accounting, Financial Reporting and Budgeting has started, but it’s not too late to join!  It will meet via Zoom on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM EST through July 24. The study group is open to all CGFM candidates as a free service/benefit to support our valued members. Changes are coming for the CGFM study guides in July 2024, and the exams in September 2024. You can find additional information including FAQ's here. 

THANK YOU ALL FOR A GREAT CHAPTER YEAR!  Our AGA VA Peninsula Chapter year officially ends on June 30th. We are proud of all of our accomplishments, and want to take the time to list them along with the name of the volunteer leaders who were instrumental in making them happen.
