On Saturday, June 1, 2024, more than a dozen people of all ages joined us for our annual AGA VA Peninsula Chapter and Hampton Roads GAO Office joint clean up effort for Clean the Bay Day! We picked up all kinds of trash from the community beach in Ocean View, making it a cleaner and more beautiful place for everyone to enjoy.  

The CGFM study group has begun! Our next chapter study group for CGFM Exam 2 Governmental Accounting, Financial Reporting and Budgeting has started, but it’s not too late to join!  It will meet via Zoom on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM EST through July 24. The study group is open to all CGFM candidates as a free service/benefit to support our valued members. Changes are coming for the CGFM study guides in July 2024, and the exams in September 2024. You can find additional information including FAQ's here. 

THANK YOU ALL FOR A GREAT CHAPTER YEAR!  Our AGA VA Peninsula Chapter year officially ends on June 30th. We are proud of all of our accomplishments, and want to take the time to list them along with the name of the volunteer leaders who were instrumental in making them happen.

PLEASE READ: We are making everyone aware that significant changes will be instituted on the Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) study guides come July 2024, and subsequently on the CGFM exam in September 2024....

Our CGFM study group just finished preparing for Exam #3. Good luck to all the candidates, and we look forward to hearing the news of you passing in the next coming weeks! Many thanks to the team, particularly as it prepares for the next study group for Exam #2, tentatively scheduled to start the third week of April-early May. It's renewal time, so be sure to maintain your membership! If you are not yet a member, it is a great time to join AGA by clicking HERE. Every year, members receive at least 15 complimentary hours of training on a variety for topics for FREE! At a value of $451, this benefit easily covers the cost of membership. Through our local chapter, members enjoy discounts and additional networking, leadership and educational experiences. All membership renewals (including CGFM) are due by 3/31/24. AGA now has autorenewal - enroll in it!

We are putting our 2024-2025 Chapter Executive Committee (CEC) together and are seeking members interested in helping lead, organize, plan and execute chapter activities in the coming year. No experience required! Please reply to agavapen@gmail.com with interest.
