The VA Peninsula Chapter of AGA once again teamed up with the Government Accountability Office (GAO) of Hampton Roads for Clean the Bay Day! On Saturday, June 4, 2022 we picked up all kinds of trash from the community beach in Ocean View, making it a cleaner and more beautiful place for everyone to enjoy.  

Are you attending the AGA Professional Development Training in Anaheim, CA this July? If so, let us know if you are planning to attend in person so we can plan a meet-up for our members!

Congrats AGA VA Peninsula on supporting students studying government accountability in perpetuity through an endowed scholarship!

In February 2022, we created the AGA Virginia Peninsula Government Accountabiltiy Scholarship Fund with the Hampton Roads Community Service Foundation (HRCF). This is a permanent fund to provide scholarships for college juniors, seniors, or graduate students from Hampton Roads, the Eastern Shore of Virginia, and/or the Northern Neck with a GPA of at least 3.0 who are in need of financial aid, have demonstrated keen interest in pursuing a public service career in governent financial management and accountability, and have declared a major in a relevant field. 

Be on the lookout for news on how to apply in the next coming months as we look forward to start supporting a student this fall. 

We will be hosting our 2021 End of Year Party, which is currently slated for Saturday, June 11th! Volunteers will be needed. Be on the lookout for details coming in the next few weeks. 

On Wednesday, April 20th, another CGFM Study Group will meet to begin preparing for Exam 2. The group is tentatively looking at meeting on Monday and Wednesday evenings, so be on the lookout for details coming soon. If you have any questions, please contact Claudia Ohar. 

We want to congratulate our TWO newest chapter lifetime AGA members. AGA grants a "lifetime membership" after you have paid dues for 40 consecutive years.
