April showers and exciting AGA DC Chapter events!
March is finished, and along with that, the halfway point in the federal fiscal year! What to look forward to in April? Plenty!! The DC AGA Chapter has the following exciting events planned for this month:
- 2 Community Service events (Honor Flight, Potomac River Earth Clean Up Day)
- Not 1, but 2 Webinars!
- April Luncheon - Guest Speakers John Lynskey, Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Controller, and Rafael Cotto, Internal Controls Program Manager, Smithsonian Institution are presenting "Smithsonian 101". Always a great time seeing one another at Clyde's if you're able to attend in person.
- Annual AGA DC Chapter Hybrid Training Event - We're returning back to DC, and have many exciting topics including AI Ethics, FASAB Updates, and GAO's role in supporting Congress.
Besides these great events, please keep an upcoming eye on May. In particular, there are two events where registrations are open and may fill up quickly: Visa Government Forum and Over the Edge Volunteer Activity.

Have you paid your 2025-2026 membership dues and CGFM renewal fees? If not, have no fear - AGA has indicated to help our community in this rapidly changing environment, they've extended the annual renewal deadline for AGA membership and CGFM certification to April 30th.

1) Confirm your membership active to take advantage of all the benefits.
2) Check your AGA profile and make sure your information up-to-date.
3) If not already done, Sign up to receive the chapter's email messages and get helpful reminders about chapter news and events!
