Kenneth Gunn
The Richmond Chapter is especially pleased to nominate Kenneth M. Gunn as the 2020-2021 Chapter Volunteer of the Year Award for his distinguished contributions. Ken is the Comptroller of the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services. He holds the CGFM, CPA, and CFE certifications. An active AGA member for over 30 years, Ken served as Chapter President for the 2000-2001 program year during which the chapter assisted in the establishment of the Roanoke Chapter. Ken is currently serving as Chapter Treasurer. He provides valuable financial information and other recommendations during Chapter Executive Committee (CEC) planning meetings. His duties include preparing an annual chapter budget, managing chapter accounts, preparing and providing financial statements that are timely and accurate, and promptly depositing receipts and disbursing funds on behalf of the chapter. Ken consistently coordinates with education and community service committee members to ensure the chapter’s seminars are successful. Ken is also responsible for filing informational returns with IRS as required by the established due date. The Richmond Chapter along with three other Virginia chapters hosts an annual Professional Development Training – Ken is responsible for tracking those associated costs, receipts, and distribution of proceeds between chapters. He assists where needed with other chapter activities. As an active CEC member, Ken continues to be a valuable and active asset to chapter growth and continuity. His professionalism in all aspects provides all members a valued role model.
