CPAG Committees

CPAG creates dialogues with government executives through a committee structure. Committees are open to any individual who works for a CPAG organization. Most ‘legwork’ for projects is accomplished via conference calls and email. Committees meet monthly via the phone.

Committee Projects Can Include

  • Developing/writing white papers, surveys, and research studies (get published!)
  • Conducting forums and webinars by developing content, securing speakers, moderating – interacting with government executives and speaking!
  • Identifying topics and speakers to deliver presentations at AGA events
  • Participating in forums at the request of government agencies/executives
  • Responding to RFIs where AGA, consolidating your input, can serve as a neutral voice with no conflicts of interest

Committees:

Support the CPAG mission by providing an objective, industry-neutral and ethical forum to collaborate on issues of common interest to government and the private sector surrounding government accounting and auditing. This can be accomplished through:

  • Providing CPAG as a resource for key government agencies including, but not limited to, FASAB, GAO, Office of Management and Budget, Office of the Secretary of Defense, PCIE and the U.S. Department of the Treasury for the purposes of informing government on the possible impacts of industry trends and best practices in accounting and auditing.
  • Providing a forum for studies and analyses of public sector accounting and auditing through events and research studies.
  • Providing leadership and support to the AGA Internal Control & Fraud Prevention Training Event, specifically through program development and sponsorship.
  • Providing program agenda input to the Professional Development Training Technical Committee relating to government accounting and auditing.
  • Assisting AGA when asked in identifying topics and speakers to deliver presentations at all AGA events.
  • Meets the third Thursday of each month at 8 am via conference call.

Support the CPAG mission by providing an objective, industry-neutral and ethical forum to collaborate on issues of common interest to government and the private sector surrounding financial systems and technology. This can be accomplished through:

  • Providing CPAG as a resource for government agencies with regards to financial systems modernization – specifically the Office of Management and Budget, the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the U.S. Department of Defense.
  • Providing a forum for studies and analyses of public sector financial systems and technology through events and research studies.
  • Providing leadership and support to the AGA Federal Financial Systems Summit, specifically through program development and sponsorship.
  • Providing leadership and support to the AGA/AFFIRM CFO-CIO Summit, specifically through program development and sponsorship.
  • Providing program agenda input to the Professional Development Training Technical Committee relating to financial systems and technology.
  • Assisting AGA when asked in identifying topics and speakers to deliver presentations at all AGA events.
  • Actively promoting and determining topics and seeking sponsorship for AGA research studies.
  • Demonstrating through AGA programs and training events, private sector services and products that can help government perform more effectively and efficiently.
  • Meets the first Thursday of each month at 8:00 am via conference call.

Support the CPAG mission by providing an objective, industry-neutral and ethical forum to collaborate on issues of common interest to government and the private sector surrounding government performance management. This can be accomplished through:

  • Providing CPAG as a resource for the Office of Management and Budget and other appropriate government agencies for the purposes of informing government on the possible impacts of industry trends and best practices in performance management.
  • Providing a forum for studies and analyses of public sector performance management through events and research studies.
  • Providing leadership and support to the AGA PIO-CFO Summit, specifically through program development and sponsorship.
  • Providing program agenda input to the Professional Development Training Technical Committee relating to performance management.
  • Assisting AGA when asked in identifying topics and speakers to deliver presentations at all AGA events.
  • Actively promoting and determining topics and seeking sponsorship for AGA research studies.
  • Demonstrating through AGA programs and training events, private sector services and products that can help government perform more effectively and efficiently.
  • Meets the second Friday of each month at 1:15 pm via conference call.

The committee’s focus is on increasing value and business growth for small organizations that are AGA Corporate Partners. This can be accomplished through:

  • Providing a forum where small businesses can increase visibility and identify teammates/partners to successfully compete in the marketplace.
  • Educating small businesses to support development, growth, and success in the marketplace.
  • Assisting government agencies in identifying small businesses to meet their SB award goals.
  • Exploring ways to join forces with other small CPAG organizations surrounding event programming and event sponsorship/exhibiting opportunities and continuing education.

The Defense Committee will work across all CPAG committees to ensure the Defense, Civilian, and private sector financial management communities share practices that improve Defense financial management and accelerate progress toward auditability. In this capacity, the aim is to increase collaboration with and participation of the Defense community in all our committee efforts.
