Brian Gee
Albany Chapter
Volunteer of the Year 2021-22

Brian first joined the Chapter in 2002 and has held a number of positions over the past two decades including President of the Chapter being one of the few individuals who served the Chapter as President twice – once in 2007-08 and one again in 2020-21.

This year as the Immediate Past President, he has made himself available wherever needed. He served as the Chair of our Strategic Direction and Bylaws Committee and was instrumental in implementing new policies on Conflict of Interests, Whistleblowers, Working with Other Professional Organizations, and COVID-19. He was also responsible for updating the Chapter’s Strategic Plan.

He was a key member of the Fraud Conference Workgroup which was responsible for working with multiple accountability organizations to put on a two-day fraud conference using both an in-person and virtual format. He also was a key member of The Conference That Counts (TCTC) Workgroup which was responsible for working with multiple accountability organizations to put on a three-day conference with three tracks in both an in-person and virtual format. Both of these events were attended by several hundred individuals.

Over the years Brian has participated in a number of community service events and for a number of years coordinated the Chapter’s annual golf tournament which provided financial support for the Albany Medical Center Children’s Hospital.

Brian prepared our annual member survey this year which enables us to obtain constructive feedback from the membership regarding the effectiveness of our programs. He also served on the Chapter Executive Committee this year and participated in our meetings and events. He actively encouraged professional development for his staff and encouraged them to join our Chapter resulting in 30 plus new members.

Brian Gee is the AGA Albany Chapter’s 2021-2022 Volunteer of the Year.
