Jon Dearborn
The Boston Chapter is submitting a nomination for Volunteer of the Year for Assistant Director to the Webmaster and Newsletter Editor, Jon Dearborn.
Jon has made a tremendous impact on the Boston Chapter during the program year. While serving the Chapter, Jon has made important contributions to the mission of the education and membership and early career committees. He has been responsible for the development of some of the Chapter’s key educational events with our online provider. For example, he was an active participant on the Chapter’s committee supporting the advancement of women in the profession effort led by Massachusetts State Auditor Suzanne Bump. As part of this effort, Jon successfully supported two virtual online panels with the Chapter’s online provider in a timely manner. These two events provided quality content, as well as continuing professional education credit, to over 100 members and non-members.
Similarly, as a volunteer on the Chapter’s education committee, Jon supported the development of a virtual webinar on cybersecurity. In addition, he assisted with the development of alternative training content for the Chapter’s annual Fraud Seminar when a speaker was unable to participate in the live event. He assisted the replacement speakers with planning and implementing their session, ensuring their session met the needs of the committee.
Jon also supported the Chapter’s webmaster with maintaining our website during the program year.
Jon’s diligence and dedication to the Boston Chapter creates opportunities for us to move forward with offering valuable educational opportunities to members and nonmembers alike.
