Julio Elizondo
Julio Elizondo was the major driving force behind revitalizing the San Antonio Chapter in 2023-2024. He not only volunteered as Secretary, but stepped up as our President-Elect. As a new member, his enthusiasm was inspirational to his colleagues & helped boost chapter membership over 50%. His selfless offering of conference space & videoteleconferencing capability allowed in-person & virtual attendees throughout the region the opportunity to network & receive timely State Board-certified updates on governmental accounting issues – 60 to 70 people from 11 States & DC registered for our Yellow Book & Fraud sessions! Julio also served as a mentor, inspiring one member to provide a well-received presentation. Likewise, he selflessly embraced our charitable endeavors, such as the December Toys for Tots drive, personally setting out bins & encouraging donations, resulting in bags of toys, a bicycle, & significant monetary contributions, overwhelming the Marines picking up the toys!
