Rescheduling an exam within 24 hours of appointment time is subject to a same-day forfeit exam fee. Exam fees are due for no-shows.

To Cancel (Non-Emergency): Contact Pearson VUE at 888.846.6948 or by logging into your account and canceling your appointment at least 24 hours prior to your originally scheduled testing appointment date and time. Canceling an exam within 24 hours of appointment time is subject to a same-day forfeit exam fee. Exam fees are due for no-shows. Note: online exams must be cancelled as soon as possible before your appointment. If you do not cancel your appointment before the scheduled appointment time, you will forfeit your exam fee.

To Cancel (Emergency): These procedures only apply if you need to cancel your testing appointment for an emergency reason (defined as a death in the immediate family, medical emergency or car accident) within a 24-hour period prior to your originally scheduled testing appointment date and time. In order to request a waiver of the no-show fee in this case, you must call Pearson VUE at 888.846.6948 within 24 hours before or after your appointment time and ask for a Program Coordinator handling emergency cancellations. Documentation may be requested.

Testing Center Procedures

Arrival time: We ask that you arrive at the test center 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.  This will give you adequate time to complete the necessary check-in procedures, including signing the Candidate Rules Agreement. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for an exam and are refused admission, payment is due for the exam and delivery fees.

Identification: To be admitted to the testing center, you must show two (2) valid forms of personal ID. Both must have your signature, and one of the two must have your photo. The name on the IDs must match the name on the eligibility letter. Failure to present the valid IDs and a marriage license if the name on the CGFM application was your maiden name will invalidate your appointment and you will forfeit your entire exam fee.

Other entry requirements: In addition to showing your identification, you will be asked to sign in and your picture and a digital scan of your palms will be taken.

Personal belongings: You will not be allowed to take any personal items, including food or drink, with you into the testing room. A locker will be available for your belongings, which you will not have access to for the duration of the exam. A note board and a calculator will be provided. A calculator is also built into the exam software.

Audio/video monitoring: Pearson Professional Centers have audio and video monitoring of the examinations.

Reporting issues: Should any issues/problems arise during a testing center registration process or a CGFM exam administration, they must be brought to the attention of the Pearson VUE testing center administrator so an incident report can be filed. If any issues are not resolved by Pearson VUE, candidates should contact AGA's Office of Professional Certification in writing - via email at agacgfm@agacgfm.org or mail (AGA, 2208 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria VA 22301) within 30 days of the exam testing date. No exam questions or other confidential information may be transmitted via email or communicated outside of the exam administration.

Requests for a waiver of a no-show exam fee: Please see Rescheduling and Cancellation Procedures for cancellation policy and instructions. If you need to cancel your testing appointment for an emergency reason (such as a medical emergency, death in the immediate family or car accident) within the 24-hour timeframe, you must call Pearson VUE at 888.846.6948 within 24 hours before or after your appointment time and ask for a Program Coordinator handling emergency cancellations in order to request a waiver of the no-show fee. The no-show fee will not be waived for cancellations within the 24-hour timeframe for non-emergency reasons.
